Crops: I was gone last weekend… all 3 days. Gone up north to a crop… and to the non-scrapbookers, a crop is an event where a bunch of people get together to scrapbook. A friend and I went together and had a blast! I got 20 pages completed.. I think a record for me, but boy I was tired from being up late, for sitting so much and racking my brain for ideas. It was all worth it and I’m going again next weekend, this time with 8 of my friends. I think the organizer is giving us our own room because we can get a bit loud when we’re all together having fun and imbibing in adult beverages.
Color: The bedroom is progressing… or rather regressing. It took me over a week to decide on the right blue and when it got narrowed down to 3, I let DH decide. I didn’t care anymore. I wasn’t happy with the colors. I didn’t go with my first instinct, which was a cafe au lait….. like coffee with milk. I thought that all the blue toned accents would be highlighted against a beige wall, but with 3 blue walls painted… it was just too blue. The only thing that would stand out were the walls. So back to the paint store goes Chuck (the painter) to get more samples. And again more color splashes on the wall. Now I’m satisfied I’ve got the right color and even DH agrees (enter hallelujah chorus). Chuck will be back on Monday to repaint the room. YEAH!!!!
Chairs: We went furniture shopping this week for a new chair for the bedroom. I wanted brown leather. I have wanted leather chairs for years, but for some reason never get it and this time was the same. I wanted either a chair with an ottoman or a recliner that didn’t look like a recliner. NO overstuffed man chair in my room please. I want to be able to put my feet up and read, or knit or watch TV all comfy. I sat in every chair in the furniture showroom… and felt like Goldilocks…. chairs were too big, too little, arms not high enough, didn’t have an ottoman, back wasn’t straight. .. but I found the perfect chair and to top it off, it came in a blue suede. Now I have to be patient for 6-8 weeks for delivery.
Choirs: Bob and the Holland Chorale is singing up at Central Michigan University tomorrow. A special performance before a gaggle of music teachers and choir directors.
and…. I finished another knitting project. This one is for Sara, my son’s girlfriend and is supposed to be a Christmas present, but I’m giving it to her in November when we go to DC for Thanksgiving. It’s a cowl to put over your head like a collar and tuck into a coat like a scarf. Love the pattern, my first lace pattern and I think I’ll make one for myself after the gift knitting is done.

Margo, your room sounds beautiful. I love the blue and brown combo and I am sure it will be awesome when it is done. You will have to invite me for a “look-see”.
