For the first time since we’ve been in this house, I actually saw stars through the skylights in the master bedroom. The new skylights were installed last week and are a beautiful clear glass, so the stars, clouds and sky are all visible as I lay in my bed.  The old skylights were made of plastic and through the years became brittle which made them leak… not so much fun, especially when they’re leaking on me as I sleep.  After the skylights were installed, the plasterer came and did the repair work and now we’re waiting on the painter who comes tomorrow to rip off wallpaper and paint. I’ll sleeping in the guest room for the next week…  The only things remaining in the bedroom during this redecorating will be the carpet and major pieces of furniture which are only a couple of years old and the bed which we only bought last year.  New lighting, drapes, bed linens and accessories are all waiting to go in.  We go shopping this week or next for a new chair, something comfy I can read or knit in and a new television for the armoire. Color scheme? Blue of course… I’ve always had a blue bedroom… different shades from robin’s egg to navy make a serene peaceful place to go relax. The new blue is close to this color, but a bit darker and more blue.  Combined with shades of chocolate, its going to be beautiful. Here is a ‘before’ picture of the bedroom with the old bed taken a year ago …. will post the after when its done. …. and yes the art above the bed is an authentic Maxfield Parrish.  bed.jpg
