After several years of being intimidated by those things between my feet and shoes, I finally knitted my first pair of socks. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long, I knew the stitches, I knew how to use those double pointed needles, I could read the pattern, but somehow the fear of the unknown overwhelmed me. Whether that or the fear of failure… if I don’t try, I won’t fail. But also if I don’t try, I won’t have soft hand-knit socks to wear and the satisfaction of a job well done. Maybe I could take that thought and use it in the rest of my life. Don’t fear failure… we learn from it, it makes us stronger. And what to we tell our children when faced with a new and unfamiliar food…. “you won’t know if you like it unless you try it”. Yes, I’m patting myself on the back… a lot. Next project… a pair of socks for Bob in soft alpaca.

Congrats on the socks! I get an error when I try to view it…just see an x.
Good job getting the socks created. We all need to tackle those things that intimidate us. I don’t see the image either, just a blue ?
Cute socks!! I’ve tried knitting, but I suck at it! LOL! I need to try again, I love watching others do it!
